ONE MILLION STARES
The eyes of one million stares,
And the muffled noise of all the whispered snickers,
Surround me,
Enfold me,
I’m drowning in a sea of contempt,
Nowhere to go,
Nowhere to hide,
Trapped,
The strong fumes of cheese and garlic reach up,
And grab me by the throat pulling me down,
All my friends joke and ask, “Whose the delivery for?”
They think that I should joke along too,
But I think that that’s pointless,
I don’t know what to do,
My choice is finally decided,
I’ll just keep following the group,
Carrying this pizza through the library,
And be silent as the eyes of one million stares,
And the muffled noise of all the snickers,
Surround me
