Where I'm From

I’m from those small moments…
I am from those small moments that are so important
From country music and rock and roll
I am from simple house outside and colorful on the inside
I am from little doors your not allowed in
And the large rock in the yard great for sitting
From remote controls cars and lots of books
I am from Waltons and Morrows
From playing cards and board games too
And from going fishing and cooking up the day’s catch
From movies every Friday night
From Grandma’s meatloaf and mashed potatoes
I’m from going to masses with grandmas every Sunday
I am from Alice Sobotka and Horace Keil
From picnicking in Fort Randall
From a long line of teachers and military men
From talking to a pilot while the plane’s grounded
I am from those moments that seem so small at the time but turn out to be the moments that define you

My 1st Blog post

One thing that I really enjoy doing is helping to end world hunger. I do that on www.freerice.com. It’s a website that’s great for passing time. You choose a category and answer questions. Every time you get an answer right they donate 10 grains of rice to the hungry. It makes me feel great to think that I’m helping someone in need. I also love the joy of knowing the answer. I use the website a lot. I really enjoy the foreign languages and geography categories. I also like to join groups, which combines users with others and creates a cumulative amount of rice for that team. I like the competition of seeing which team can earn the most rice. My goal is to donate 5,000 grains of rice by the end of the year.
